The Ondo State Police Command has arrested and charged four suspected members of an interstate kidnapping syndicate to court over the abduction of Kehinde Yisa and the murder of a 50-year-old man, Bako, in Ago Baale, Idoani, Ose Local Government Area of the state.
The incident occurred on March 3, 2026, and was initially reported at the Idoani Police Division before being transferred to the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Squad for detailed investigation.
According to the Police, operatives launched a coordinated intelligence-driven manhunt that extended beyond Ondo State into Oyo and Ogun states. Through forensic tracking, technical analysis and sustained surveillance, four principal suspects were arrested.
The suspects were identified as Umar Ibrahim, 23; Musa Abdullateef, 26; Ojo Sikiru, 40; and Oseni Waheed, 43. While Ibrahim, Abdullateef and Sikiru were apprehended at different locations in Oyo State, Waheed was arrested in Ogun State.
Police said preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects made confessional statements admitting their roles in the conspiracy, kidnapping and murder of the victims.
Commending the operatives for their professionalism, the Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Command, CP Felix Ohagwu, said the successful operation demonstrated the Command’s growing capacity to deploy intelligence, forensic tools and inter-state collaboration in tackling violent crimes.
He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to sustaining its offensive against kidnapping, armed robbery, murder and other violent crimes threatening public safety across the state.
Following the conclusion of investigations, the four suspects have been charged to court for prosecution, while efforts are ongoing to arrest other members of the criminal syndicate still at large.
