As part of the ongoing Community Engagement Tour across Ondo South Senatorial District, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Engagement (South), Hon. Gbologe Alex, has met with traditional rulers in Irele Local Government Area to further strengthen collaboration between the state government and grassroots leadership.
Speaking during the strategic session, Hon. Gbologe stressed that effective governance requires strong communication systems that keep the voice of the people alive at all levels.
He explained that while Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and his commissioners cannot physically be present in every community at the same time, a well-structured engagement system ensures that no locality is left unattended.
He highlighted that the Office of Community Engagement has been intentionally positioned as a frontline link between government and the people, ensuring that information from communities is received timely and directly.
This real-time feedback, he noted, enables government to design interventions that truly reflect the needs of residents, in line with the “Our Ease Agenda”, which focuses on accessible governance and improved living standards.
Hon. Gbologe noted that Governor Aiyedatiwa values honest, community-driven feedback, describing it as the backbone of responsive leadership and accelerated development.
In their response, the Obas of Irele Local Government praised the Governor’s inclusive leadership style and commended Hon. Gbologe for his commitment to bridging the gap between government and the grassroots.
They described his approach to engagement as the first of its kind in the area and pledged continued support for the administration’s development efforts.
The interaction further strengthened the bond between the state and traditional institutions, emphasizing the critical role of royal fathers in promoting stability, fostering peace, and driving community progress across Ondo State.
