Chief Dele Omosehin, the Lisa of Osooro Kingdom, respected business mogul and founder of the Bamidele Omosehin Foundation (BOF), has urged residents of Okitpupa and Irele local government areas to take advantage of the ongoing voter registration exercise, stressing that good governance begins with active civic participation.
Omosehin, who has declared his ambition to contest the Irele/Okitpupa Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 general elections, noted that obtaining a voter card is the first step toward building accountable leadership and quality representation.
“If we desire good governance, we must first empower ourselves with the voter’s card. That is the tool to make our voices heard and ensure that our leaders are truly chosen by the people,” he said.
The philanthropist explained that the mobilization train for his 2027 project has already kicked off through the Asejere Media Team, which has been tasked with deepening grassroots sensitization on voter registration and political participation.
According to him, the campaign will reach every ward and community in the constituency, particularly targeting first-time voters and young people.
He maintained that participation in the democratic process is the strongest way to secure a better future for Okitpupa, Irele, and Ondo South at large.
INEC recently announced the continuation of the nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, aimed at capturing new voters, updating records, and replacing lost or damaged voter cards. Omosehin urged residents not to wait until election season before acting, but to seize the opportunity now.
