The Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has presented new official vehicles to 14 Permanent Secretaries in the state public service, including four who recently retired, in a move aimed at boosting efficiency and productivity in the civil service.
The brief handing-over ceremony took place on Monday, August 11, 2025, at the Governor’s Office in Alagbaka, Akure. Governor Aiyedatiwa described the event as “symbolic,” noting that the gesture was part of his administration’s commitment to supporting the leadership of the public service.
“This is just symbolic to support you, to help you be more productive, move around, do your job with ease, and to be more efficient,” the Governor said. “Because I appointed the four of you who have retired, we will not deprive you of that entitlement.”
He urged the beneficiaries to remain committed to delivering their responsibilities promptly and effectively, describing them as key drivers of government policies and programmes.
Head of Service, Mr. Bayo Philip, commended the Governor for his consistent support of civil servants, saying the gesture was a reflection of his dedication to keeping the state’s administrative machinery running smoothly.
In her vote of thanks, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Mrs. Foluke Tunde-Daramola, expressed gratitude on behalf of the beneficiaries. She described Governor Aiyedatiwa as “a good father to the people of the state” and pledged the loyalty of the permanent secretaries to the administration.
“We will ensure that the mandates you have given us in our respective MDAs are fully delivered,” she assured.
The gesture aligns with the Governor’s “OUR EASE” agenda, which prioritises the welfare of workers and the smooth functioning of government institutions.
