The Chairman of Akure North Local Government, Hon. Ogunbolude Johnson, has lauded Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for attracting major investments to the state following plans by Africa’s richest businessman, Aliko Dangote, to establish what is projected to become Nigeria’s largest industrial and free trade zone at Olokola.
Ogunbolude described the proposed Olokola Industrial Zone as a landmark development capable of transforming the economic fortunes of Ondo State and positioning it as a leading destination for local and foreign investments.
According to him, the project, which is expected to commence construction in the last quarter of 2026, will provide critical infrastructure aimed at attracting manufacturers and investors, while creating thousands of direct and indirect jobs for residents.
He noted that the industrial hub would stimulate industrialisation, boost internally generated revenue and provide fresh opportunities for youths and businesses across the state.
The Akure North chairman congratulated Governor Aiyedatiwa for what he described as a major feat and urged residents to continue supporting policies and programmes geared towards sustainable development, economic prosperity and infrastructural advancement.
Expressing optimism about the future impact of the project, Ogunbolude said the Olokola Industrial Zone would usher in a new era of industrial revolution, prosperity and inclusive growth for Ondo State and generations yet unborn.
