The Chairman of Akure North Local Government, Hon. Ogunbolude Johnson, has sent a high-powered delegation to Agamo community to commiserate with residents, chiefs and the family of the slain traditional ruler, Oba Kehinde Falodun, the Ooga of Agamo.
The monarch was reportedly murdered by unknown gunmen, an incident that has thrown the community into mourning.
The delegation, which visited the community on Thursday, March 6, 2026, was led by the Leader of the House, Hon. Tolu Adanri, and included the councillor representing Ward 1, Hon. Idowu Odunayo, the Supervisor for Health, Hon. Olawale Michael, Hon. Niyi Jayeola, as well as the Adviser to the Chairman on Youth and Community Development, among others.
On arrival, the team proceeded to the palace of the late monarch where they met with members of the immediate family and representatives of the traditional chiefs led by Chief Agbaajo.
Speaking on behalf of the council chairman, Adanri conveyed Johnson’s condolences to the family and the entire community over the tragic death of the monarch. He apologised for the delay in the visit, attributing it to the chairman’s tight schedule and security advice from relevant agencies.
He assured the community that security agencies were making efforts to track down those responsible for the killing, while also praying for the repose of the monarch’s soul and comfort for the bereaved family.
Responding on behalf of the community and the monarch’s family, Chief Agbaajo expressed appreciation to the council chairman for sending the delegation.
He also used the opportunity to highlight some of the community’s pressing needs, including the provision of solar street lights and the establishment of an Amotekun post to strengthen security and safeguard lives and property in the area.
In his remarks, Jayeola assured the community that their requests would receive due consideration and promised to relay their concerns to the council chairman for necessary action.
The delegation reaffirmed the local government’s commitment to supporting the community and ensuring adequate security as preparations continue for the final burial rites of the late monarch.
