The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has commenced another nationwide exercise to strike off 100,000 companies from Nigeria’s official register for failing to comply with statutory filing requirements under the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) 2020.
In a public notice dated July 15, 2026, and titled “Intention to Strike Off Companies from the Register (Batch 6),” the Commission said the exercise is being carried out in accordance with Section 692(3) and (4) of CAMA 2020.
According to the CAC, the names of the affected companies have been published on its official website. The Commission urged all affected companies to immediately regularise their records by filing all outstanding Annual Returns, including Persons with Significant Control (PSC) and Beneficial Ownership information.
The affected firms have been given a 90-day window from the date of the notice to comply with the statutory requirements. Evidence of compliance is to be forwarded to the Commission through its designated email address for struck-off companies.
The Commission warned that any company that fails to regularise its records within the stipulated period will be removed from the Register without further notice, a move that could result in the loss of its legal status as a registered company.
The CAC reaffirmed its commitment to promoting corporate compliance and maintaining an accurate and credible companies register, while assuring the public of continued efficient service delivery to businesses and other stakeholders.
