The All Progressives Congress (APC) has effectively laid to rest speculations over possible changes to its list of candidates for the 2027 general elections after announcing the successful upload of all its Presidential, Vice Presidential, Senate, and House of Representatives candidates on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Candidate Nomination Portal (ICNP).
The announcement, made by the party, confirmed that the nomination process had been concluded, with all candidates duly submitted to INEC within the stipulated deadline.
The APC stated: “I congratulate our candidates, leaders, and members of APC on the successful 100% upload of our Presidential, Vice Presidential, Senate, and House of Representatives candidates on the INEC Candidate Nomination Portal (ICNP). With this milestone achieved, our focus now shifts to mobilization and preparations for a successful campaign and decisive victory at the polls.”
The development is widely seen as bringing an end to weeks of uncertainty and speculation over possible substitutions or reversals of candidates’ names, particularly in states where the party’s primaries generated disputes and legal challenges.
Before the completion of the nomination process, there had been widespread reports suggesting that the APC leadership might alter the list of candidates in some states affected by contentious primaries.
