Akure, the Ondo State capital, is set to host a gathering of political leaders, traditional rulers, religious figures and gospel music lovers today as the much anticipated Aremolekun Comeback Music Concert takes centre stage.
The event, organised by the Pillar of Bethel Angelic Voices (POBAV), will attract Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa as the Special Guest of Honour, alongside the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo; Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande; former Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, who will serve as the Father of the Day; and Hon. Abiola Makinde, Chairman of the occasion.
Other dignitaries expected include Deputy Governor Dr. Olayide Adelami, Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, senior government officials, traditional rulers, clerics and prominent political leaders across the state.
Themed “My Prophet, My King (Woli Mi, Oba Mi)”, the gospel concert will feature performances by renowned gospel ministers, invited church choirs and members of the Gospel Musicians’ Association of Nigeria (GOMAN), offering an atmosphere of worship, praise and spiritual renewal.
The programme also marks the celebration of over three decades of gospel ministry by the host choir, Pillar of Bethel Angelic Voices, founded in 1997 by Very Rev’d David Akinadewo Adekahunsi, popularly known as Aremolekun. The ministry has produced several acclaimed gospel albums and remains one of Ondo State’s leading gospel music groups.
Organisers said the comeback concert is designed to celebrate God’s faithfulness, inspire believers through music and encourage greater support for gospel evangelism across Nigeria.
The event is scheduled to hold at Motailatu Church of God, Oke-Idahun Parish, Aremolekun Mountain, Akure.
