Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is currently in the lead in the ongoing African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primary election, following the release of partial results from several states, while former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has rejected the collation process, alleging irregularities.
According to results announced so far, Atiku secured clear victories across Edo, Ondo, Oyo and other states, widening his lead over his closest rival, Amaechi, and former presidential aspirant Mohammed Hayatu-Deen.
In Edo State, Atiku polled 17,729 votes, while Amaechi scored 10,116 votes. Hayatu-Deen followed with 1,906 votes.
In Ondo State, Atiku again led with 18,287 votes. Amaechi received 6,031 votes, while Hayatu-Deen recorded 857 votes.
In Oyo State, Atiku maintained his dominance with 23,011 votes. Amaechi trailed with 1,553 votes, and Hayatu-Deen polled 568 votes.

However, the collation process has been thrown into controversy as Rotimi Amaechi dismissed the exercise, describing it as flawed and lacking transparency. He reportedly raised concerns over the credibility of the process and called for a review, insisting that the results do not reflect the true outcome of delegate voting in several areas.
The unfolding development has heightened tension at the party’s national collation centre, as stakeholders await results from remaining states to determine the eventual winner of the primary election.
