FIFA has appointed Slovenian referee Slavko Vinčić to officiate the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final between Spain and Argentina, scheduled for Sunday at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, United States.
The appointment was confirmed by FIFA ahead of the tournament’s showpiece event, with Vinčić entrusted to take charge of one of the biggest matches in world football.
The 45-year-old Slovenian will be assisted by compatriots Tomaž Klančnik and Andraž Kovačič as first and second assistant referees respectively, ensuring an all-Slovenian on-field officiating team.
FIFA also named Adham Makhadmeh of the United Arab Emirates as the Fourth Official, while Mohammad Alkalaf, also from the UAE, will serve as the Reserve Assistant Referee.
