Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has charged the Chairman of the Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC), Prince Biyi Poroye, to change the narrative in oil-producing communities by delivering visible and impactful development.
Speaking at a reception held in honour of the OSOPADEC Chairman on Saturday, July 12, 2025, Governor Aiyedatiwa emphasized the need for effective service delivery that directly improves the lives of the people in the commission’s mandate areas.
The Governor, who lauded Poroye’s doggedness, intellect, and leadership capacity, expressed confidence in his ability to deliver on the commission’s mandate. He also called on board members to give their full support to the Chairman in the interest of community development.
Earlier, the Chairman of the occasion, Rt. Hon. Victor Olabimtan, applauded the Governor’s choice, describing Prince Poroye as a competent and transparent leader. The Planning Committee Chairman, Mr. Kenneth Odusola-Stevenson, also affirmed that Poroye’s leadership would bring positive transformation to the region.
In his response, Prince Biyi Poroye thanked the guests for their presence and pledged not to betray the confidence reposed in him.
Dignitaries at the event included the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Prince Segun Omojuwa; Hon. Abiola Makinde of the House of Representatives; Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ololade Gbegudu; and several political appointees.
