Detectives from the Sagamu Division of the Ogun State Police Command have secured the conviction of a 26-year-old man, Anthony Cephas, who was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment for stealing a solar-powered streetlight along the Sagamu Interchange Expressway.
The suspect was apprehended on my October 30, 2026, at approximately 9:00 p.m. in the Mayegun area of Sagamu. Police officers recovered the stolen streetlight equipment, including its solar panel, at the scene of the arrest.
Following a prompt investigation by the division, Cephas was arraigned in court on November 2, 2026.
The court found him guilty as charged and subsequently handed down the three-year prison sentence.
