The Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in Ondo State, Hon. Amidu Takuro, has undertaken an extensive inspection tour of ongoing and completed developmental projects across Akure North Local Government Area.
Upon arrival at the council premises, the Commissioner and his entourage were received by the Executive Chairman of Akure North Local Government, Hon. Ogunbolude Johnson, alongside the Head of Local Government Affairs, Mrs. B.O. Adubi.
The delegation commenced the exercise with an assessment of several infrastructural improvements within the local government secretariat.
Among the projects inspected were the newly renovated administrative complex, the re-roofed old administrative block, a renovated and fully equipped legislative chamber, and the upgraded entrance gate of the council headquarters.
The team also evaluated local agricultural initiatives situated within the secretariat grounds, including an active tomato farm and a cocoa nursery farm.
Following the secretariat tour, the Commissioner proceeded to the L.A. area in Iju to inspect a newly completed bridge.The infrastructure was constructed to enhance accessibility to the local health center for commuters and residents in the community.
Additionally, the inspection team visited a newly established ultra-modern shopping complex in the Sango area along the Ado-Ekiti Road. The site, which previously served as a hideout for criminal elements, has now been transformed into a commercial hub aimed at boosting economic activity and enhancing security in the area.
At the conclusion of the tour, Hon. Takuro commended Hon. Johnson for his administration’s milestone achievements and proactive leadership. He expressed strong satisfaction with the standard and variety of the developmental projects executed across the local government.
In response, the council chairman reaffirmed his commitment to elevating the standard of living in the area, assuring residents that his administration remains dedicated to delivering sustainable development throughout Akure North.
