The Executive Chairman of Akure North local government council area of Ondo state, Hon. Johnson Ogunbolude, has been described by supporters and political associates as a grassroots, youthful, hardworking and result oriented politician, as he marks his birthday today amid widespread tributes and celebrations across the council area.
The chairman, who currently leads Akure North, continues to attract commendations for his developmental initiatives, infrastructure drive, and social welfare programmes aimed at improving living conditions at the grassroots.
Supporters say Ogunbolude has distinguished himself as one of the most visible and active local government chairmen in recent times, with emphasis on people focused governance, community engagement, and youth empowerment.
He is also widely known as a loyal and strong supporter of the Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, aligning with the state government’s policies and actively supporting efforts to deepen good governance and expand the delivery of dividends of democracy to the grassroots.
According to political observers and community stakeholders, Ogunbolude’s administration has been complementing the state’s development agenda through projects that enhance infrastructure, strengthen local administration, and promote social welfare across Akure North.
Among his key interventions is the construction of a modern shopping complex at Sango Market, designed to boost commercial activities and increase internally generated revenue for the local government.
This initiative follows earlier efforts to improve security in parts of the area through clearance of suspected criminal hideouts, paving the way for development projects.
His administration has also recorded progress in market development, including lock-up shops and other infrastructure projects aimed at improving trading conditions and expanding economic opportunities for residents.
In education, Ogunbolude introduced a bursary scheme for students of Akure North origin in tertiary institutions, aimed at easing financial burdens and encouraging academic excellence.
His government has also implemented welfare programmes for elderly citizens and empowerment initiatives targeted at women and vulnerable groups in rural communities.
Residents of Akure North have continued to express satisfaction with his leadership, noting that the council area is witnessing visible development under his watch.
Many people, including traditional rulers, market women, youths, students, artisans, and political stakeholders, believe he still has more to offer and have joined in celebrating his birthday with goodwill messages and community events.
The ongoing total renovation of the Akure North administrative complex, alongside several other developmental initiatives currently underway across the council area, are visible and impactful projects benefiting the people.
As celebrations continue, supporters across wards in Akure North have described his administration as one that has brought governance closer to the people, while reaffirming their support and prayers for continued success in office.
