The All Progressives Congress has announced the composition of its Primary Election Committees and Primary Election Appeal Committees for the forthcoming National Assembly primary elections, signaling the party’s readiness to proceed with the scheduled exercise nationwide.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Friday, the party said the committees would oversee the conduct of the Senate and House of Representatives primaries, as well as attend to complaints arising from the exercise.
The statement, signed by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, urged party members, aspirants and stakeholders to remain peaceful and uphold transparency throughout the process.
According to the party, the constitution of both the primary committees and appeal panels marks a critical administrative step, confirming that preparations for the National Assembly primaries have entered the final stage.
The development comes amid heightened political activities across states, with aspirants intensifying consultations ahead of the primaries.
The composite signal that the ruling party is determined to maintain its timetable despite reports of local disputes and contestations in some constituencies.
The APC leadership reiterated its commitment to a fair and credible process, stressing that all stakeholders must respect party guidelines and democratic principles as the selection of candidates begins.
