A Magistrate Court sitting in Ondo State has granted bail to the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr. Seun Bosede Osamaye, after she pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against her.
At the resumed hearing on Wednesday, the court set aside an earlier warrant of arrest issued against the commissioner.
Delivering her ruling, Magistrate Damilola Sekoni held that all pending applications before the court had become spent following the voluntary appearance of the defendant.
Dr. Osamaye, who appeared in court with her legal team, formally took her plea and denied the allegation levelled against her. The magistrate subsequently granted her bail on self-recognizance.
The court thereafter adjourned the matter to February 20, 2026, for further hearing.
The development brings temporary relief to the commissioner as the legal process continues.
