A calm evening in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, turned tragic when a young woman was discovered dead inside a hotel room, sending shockwaves through the community.
The incident came to light when hotel staff forced open the room after repeated knocks went unanswered. Workers and guests were thrown into panic as the woman was discovered lying motionless on the bed with no visible signs of violence on her body.
Sources at the hotel told our correspondent that the deceased had checked in earlier in the day with a man identified as Sodiq Ganiyu. “They arrived together and booked the room. Later, when staff went in, they found the lady unresponsive,” one of the workers said.
The man reportedly fled the premises shortly after the discovery, raising suspicion and prompting security operatives to launch a manhunt.
A security official familiar with the investigation confirmed that the woman’s body has been deposited at the Ore morgue. Although preliminary observations indicated no external injuries, authorities have ordered a comprehensive autopsy to determine the cause of death.
