As part of activities marking his first 100 days in office, Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has distributed high-grade Toyota Hilux operational vehicles to security agencies across the state, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to the safety of lives and properties.
Speaking during the presentation ceremony held at the Government House in Akure on Wednesday, the Governor described the gesture as a strategic move to enhance the effectiveness and responsiveness of security formations.
He noted that the initiative builds on the earlier distribution of 25 vehicles in July 2024, emphasizing that security remains a core component of his development blueprint, “OUR EASE.”
“These vehicles are a token of our appreciation for your service and a demonstration of our commitment to strengthening the security architecture of the state,” Aiyedatiwa stated, urging the agencies to utilize the vehicles for patrols, emergency response, and coordinated security operations.
Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, in his remarks, highlighted the administration’s consistent efforts to promote public safety, while calling on residents to support the government’s vision for a more secure Ondo State.
Commending the gesture, Brigadier General Justin Ifeanyi of the 32 Artillery Brigade, who spoke on behalf of security agencies, assured that the vehicles would be properly maintained and used for their intended purpose. Similarly, Amotekun Corps Commander, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, said the vehicles would enhance operational mobility and efficiency.
Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olamide Oladiji, described the initiative as a major response to long-standing mobility challenges faced by security operatives across constituencies.
The vote of thanks was delivered by CP Wilfred Olusola, represented by Deputy Commissioner Oluseyi Okenla, who lauded the Governor’s unwavering support and provision of critical security tools.
The event was attended by top government officials, traditional rulers, security chiefs, and members of the State Executive Council.
