Manchester City’s rising star, Nico O’Reilly, is quickly making a name for himself after a stellar debut season that saw him transition from academy prospect to a trusted member of Pep Guardiola’s first-team squad.
The 19-year-old midfielder, who formerly captained City’s Under-18 side, made his senior debut in the 2024 Community Shield win over Manchester United at Wembley. Since then, he has racked up 21 appearances, netting five goals, including a brace in the FA Cup fifth-round win over Plymouth Argyle and a memorable first strike against Barcelona during a U.S. pre-season tour.
O’Reilly’s remarkable performances earned him a spot in City’s squad for the FIFA Club World Cup, further solidifying his place among the elite at the Etihad.
Ahead of the 2025/26 season, the promising midfielder has been rewarded with a new squad number 33 previously worn by Manchester City greats including Vincent Kompany and Gabriel Jesus.
