The Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ondo State Council, has congratulated Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan following his elevation to the Ondo State Cabinet by Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa. In an official media release issued on Thursday, November 5, 2026, the union commended the appointment of Adeniyan as the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Governor, a role he will assume while concurrently retaining his position as Chief Press Secretary.
In a statement signed by the State Chairman, Prince Leke Adegbite, and State Secretary, Comrade Olaoluwa Meshack, the Ondo NUJ described the dual appointment as a well-deserved recognition of Adeniyan’s professionalism, dedication, and competence in managing public communication for the state administration. The union noted that adding the cabinet-level Special Adviser role while keeping him on as Chief Press Secretary highlights the Governor’s strong confidence in Adeniyan’s capacity to drive the government’s publicity objectives.
The council extended its gratitude to Governor Aiyedatiwa for trusting a media professional with cabinet responsibility, expressing optimism that the decision will reinforce transparency, boost timely information sharing, and foster a closer working relationship between the state government and press members.
Prior to his current roles, Adeniyan served as the Secretary of the Ondo State NUJ Council and held national office within the union.
The council urged him to approach the appointment as a call to higher service and assured him of its continued backing as he undertakes his expanded duties.
