The political atmosphere in Ondo State took a decisive turn as the City Boy Movement officially inaugurated its newly constituted State Executive Council at The Dome in Akure. Sworn in by the National Leader of the movement, Hon. Francis Shoga, along with members of the National Executive Council, the newly inaugurated leadership body is charged with driving civic education, voter registration advocacy, and direct community engagement to solidify pro-Tinubu support across the Sunshine State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The significance of the Akure assembly lies in the strategic architecture being assembled under the stewardship of the State Director, Hon. Oluwafemi Ayejusunle. Deeply rooted in grassroots mobilization and well-established within the All Progressives Congress (APC) hierarchy, Ayejusunle represents the archetype of a young, intelligent political strategist.
What sets his leadership apart is a genuine ability to carry everyone along, a core trait of an effective team player and problem solver. In political organizing, cohesion is as vital as strategy, and Ayejusunle’s knack for consensus-building and conflict resolution provides the exact stabilizing force the City Boy Movement needs in Ondo State to survive local political dynamics and deliver on its mandate.
Unlike conventional campaign groups that rely solely on media rhetoric, the City Boy Movement in Ondo State is executing a hyper-local mobilization strategy. The organizational structure spans from the state council down to all 18 Local Government Areas, expanding further into wards and anchoring directly at the polling unit level with a formidable coordinating structure.
With an established framework of three designated mobilizers per polling unit, the leadership’s immediate focus is locking in grassroots structures statewide to hit an ambitious target of delivering over one million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
Crucially, the leadership under Ayejusunle operates completely devoid of political sentiment or factional bias. The movement has made it clear that its platform remains fully open and welcoming to other political groups, socio-cultural associations, and support networks sharing the common interest of delivering Ondo State for President Tinubu with an overwhelming majority.
Recognizing that sustained political success requires broad alignment, Ayejusunle’s team has systematically engaged key power centers across the state, working seamlessly alongside party leadership, from Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to federal ministers, APC state executives, and political appointees.
A primary driver behind the movement’s momentum in Ondo is the active backing of the Minister of Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande, who serves as a key backbone for the movement. Olawande fully understands the capacity, drive, and execution strength that Ayejusunle brings to the table.
The Youth Minister is providing backing and throwing his full support behind the chapter to ensure the Ondo movement operates as an exceptional, result-oriented template among its counterparts across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
This ministerial backing, paired with Ayejusunle’s proactive diplomacy, has enabled the movement to identify, engage, and onboard key influential figures across both the private and public sectors. The Ondo chapter is generating massive enthusiasm across diverse demographics, uniting APC stalwarts, student coalitions, market women, artisans, and young professionals under one political umbrella.
Supported by a state executive team composed of energetic, resourceful, and experienced young leaders, the City Boy Movement in Ondo State has positioned itself as an engine ready to execute its 2027 mandate.
