The United States has launched a fresh wave of military strikes on Iran, with multiple explosions reported across the country’s southern region in a significant escalation of tensions between Washington and Tehran.
The strikes reportedly targeted strategic locations around Bandar Abbas, Sirik, Jask, Bushehr Province, Chabahar, Asaluyeh, Bandar Dayyer, and Qeshm Island.
According to U.S. military officials, the operation was aimed at degrading military assets allegedly used by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
Iranian state media confirmed that explosions were heard in several southern locations, but authorities have yet to release official details on casualties or the extent of the damage.
The latest military action has heightened fears of a broader regional conflict, with analysts warning that renewed hostilities could disrupt maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical oil shipping routes, and further destabilize the Middle East.
