The Chairman of Akure North Local Government, Hon. Ogunbolude Johnson, has commended the Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for ensuring a peaceful, transparent, and credible conduct of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary elections across the state.
Ogunbolude described the successful exercise as a reflection of the governor’s commitment to internal democracy, unity, and the progress of the party in Ondo State.
In a statement made available to journalists, the council chairman noted that the orderly conduct of the primaries in Akure North Constituency further demonstrated the leadership capacity of the state government and party leadership.
He also congratulated the winner of the just concluded primary election, stating that the outcome of the exercise showed the confidence reposed in the candidate by delegates and party faithful.
According to him, the primary election should be seen as a family affair within the APC, urging all aspirants and their supporters to embrace peace and work together for the collective interest of the party ahead of the forthcoming general election.
“Victory belongs to everyone in the party. This is a time to close ranks, embrace peace, and move forward together for the development of Akure North and Ondo State at large,” he said.
The chairman further stressed the need for unity among party members, warning against actions capable of creating division within the APC at the grassroots level.
Hon. Ogunbolude reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots development and effective governance in Akure North Local Government, assuring party members and residents of his continued support for policies and programmes that would enhance growth and development in the area.
He also expressed optimism that the APC would emerge stronger and more united following the conclusion of the primaries.
