As political consultations gather momentum across Ondo State ahead of the 2027 general elections, stakeholders and community leaders in Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency have endorsed community leader and grassroots advocate, Prince Kehinde Adefolayemi Adekanmi, popularly known as Kenny Kunma, to represent the constituency at the National Assembly.
Adekanmi, a candidate under the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has emerged as a key candidate due to his long standing close contact with the grassroots, track record of local engagement, and commitment to addressing public needs across the local government areas.
Over the years, Prince Adekanmi has built a strong reputation through continuous interventions aimed at grassroots economic support, community development projects, and youth capacity building in Ondo South.
His grassroots initiatives have consistently focused on empowering young people through educational mentorship and skill acquisition programs, as well as extending financial support to women and small holder traders to stimulate micro-business growth. In addition to economic empowerment, Adekanmi has actively collaborated with local stakeholders, youth associations, and traditional institutions to tackle pressing community challenges and infrastructure gaps in the district.
Adekanmi’s legislative agenda focuses on delivering effective representation and attracting key infrastructure and federal resources to the constituency.
He has committed to restructuring the constituency office into an active and transparent channel for dialogue, ensuring that community needs directly inform legislative priorities.
His manifesto prioritizes sustainable job creation schemes, micro-grant access for youth led ventures, federal interventions to support the local agricultural sector, particularly cassava, palm oil, and cocoa, and targeted lobbying for federal funding to rehabilitate local roads, schools, and healthcare facilities across Okitipupa and Irele.
