Operatives of the Mowe Division, Ogun State Police Command, have arrested a 28-year-old suspected car theft kingpin, Mosuru Issa, and recovered a stolen wine-coloured Toyota Camry during a routine stop-and-search operation along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The suspect was apprehended on September 11, 2026, around 7:30 a.m. when police officers flagged down the vehicle along the Mowe axis. Upon sighting the security team, three occupants abandoned the car and fled. Operatives gave chase, capturing Issa, a resident of Osungboye Street, Agege, Lagos State, while his two accomplices escaped.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the Toyota Camry was stolen on September 7, 2026, from a parking spot in Ojoo, Lagos State.
The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, commended the officers for their vigilance and swift action, reiterating the command’s resolve to deny criminals safe passage through the state’s highways.
The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Eleweran, Abeokuta, as manhunts continue for the fleeing suspects and the vehicle’s rightful owner is being contacted.
