The Chairman of Nasarawa United Football Club, Lafia, Solomon Babanjah, has congratulated the club’s Director of Media, Eche Amos, following his special recognition and cash reward from the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Engr. Abdullahi Sule.
Speaking shortly after the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Annual General Meeting in Ibadan, Oyo State, the club chairman described the Governor’s decision to honor the media chief as both timely and symbolic. Governor Sule singled out Eche during a special reception held at the Government House in Lafia to honor the victorious Nasarawa Amazons after their Women’s President Federation’s Cup title win.
Solomon emphasized that behind every great victory is a voice that ensures the world hears it, noting that Eche has been instrumental in amplifying the achievements of both Nasarawa United, the Nasarawa Amazons, and the State’s Ministry of Youth and Sports Development through strategic communication and brand elevation.
The club chairman revealed that the Governor’s gesture was part of a long-standing pattern of appreciating Eche’s hard work, dedication, and professionalism, which has previously earned him gifts such as cars and other incentives since Governor Sule assumed office in 2019. He added that the recognition serves as a validation of the collective efforts made at Nasarawa United to project the state’s image with pride.
During the reception, Governor Sule presented Eche, who also serves as the President of the NPFL Media Directors’ Forum, with a cash reward of five hundred dollars ($500). The Governor praised the media director for his consistent, daily updates on sports activities, which keep the state leadership informed about local and international sports developments.
In his concluding remarks, Solomon, who was recently named Coordinator of the NPFL Club Owners’ Association, reaffirmed the club’s solidarity with the state government and expressed optimism that the gesture would inspire the team to greater heights in the upcoming football campaign. Nasarawa United, who finished 6th on the 20-team NPFL table with 56 points last season, are set to kick off their 2026/27 NPFL season away against Barau FC in Kano on Sunday, August 30, 2026.
