••• Abegunde Rallies Grassroots Support, Says APC Crisis Will Be Resolved Before Campaigns
Hon. Ifedayo Sunday Abegunde (popularly known as ABENA), Executive Director of Corporate Services at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and Asiwaju of Akure Kingdom, has expressed strong confidence that Ondo State will deliver a decisive vote for President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking with journalists in Port Harcourt after the NDDC Board welcomed participants to the 48th National Council on Establishment Meeting, Abegunde stated that public support for the administration stems directly from visible achievements and structural reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
According to him, President Tinubu has established a firm foundation for sustainable economic growth, infrastructure expansion, social welfare, and national security.
Abegunde also expressed full confidence in the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), particularly the National Working Committee (NWC), to resolve all internal party disputes across state chapters before the launch of the 2027 campaign.
He noted that addressing these internal matters promptly will solidify party unity and ensure a coordinated grassroots mobilization effort ahead of the general elections.
It would be recalled that Razak Obe, a loyalist of Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, had earlier warned during a television interview that President Bola Tinubu could lose Ondo State in the 2027 general election if the lingering internal crisis within the All Progressives Congress (APC) is not resolved.
Obe attributed the growing discontent within the party to the fallout from the contentious party primaries, arguing that unresolved grievances among aggrieved members could weaken the APC’s electoral strength unless genuine reconciliation is achieved before the 2027 campaigns.
Addressing the broader impact of the administration’s policies, the NDDC Director emphasized that the benefits of ongoing reforms extend to every region of the country.
These measures include increased revenue allocations to state governments, the rollout of interest-free tertiary education loans through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), and nationwide rehabilitation of major roads, bridges, and rail lines.
He further highlighted power sector overhauls, agricultural interventions to bolster food security, primary healthcare expansion, youth digital empowerment, increased security funding, support for local government autonomy, housing development, and social welfare programs such as direct cash transfers for vulnerable households.
Urging the people of Ondo State and Nigerians nationwide to remain steadfast, Abegunde assured that Ondo State will stand firmly behind President Tinubu to deliver massive votes in appreciation of his administration’s developmental strides.
