The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced that it has successfully uploaded the names and particulars of its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and his running mate, Rotimi Amaechi, to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination portal ahead of the 2027 general election.
The development was disclosed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, in a statement posted on his verified X handle on Tuesday night.
According to Abdullahi, the submission marks a significant milestone in the party’s preparations for the 2027 presidential election and demonstrates its commitment to complying with the electoral timetable and all requirements set by INEC.
He said the successful upload reflects the ADC’s determination to provide Nigerians with what it described as a credible alternative founded on competence, unity and national renewal.
The submission of candidates’ particulars to the INEC nomination portal is one of the statutory requirements political parties must fulfil before the presidential election, enabling the electoral commission to process and verify the credentials of nominated candidates.
Atiku Abubakar emerged as the ADC’s presidential candidate after winning the party’s presidential primary, while former Rivers State Governor and former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, was subsequently named as his running mate, completing the party’s presidential ticket.
The ADC said it remains focused on meeting all electoral deadlines and strengthening its nationwide campaign ahead of the 2027 general election, expressing confidence that its ticket offers Nigerians a viable alternative.
The announcement comes as political parties continue to intensify preparations for the 2027 polls, with the nomination process entering a critical phase as stipulated in the electoral timetable.
