Iran has suspended planned negotiations with the United States and pulled out of a scheduled diplomatic meeting in Switzerland, citing recent Israeli military strikes in southern Lebanon as a violation of understandings reached between the parties.
The talks, which were expected to take place on Friday, were aimed at advancing efforts to ease tensions and revive diplomatic engagement between Washington and Tehran.
However, Iranian officials accused Israel of undermining the process through renewed attacks targeting Hezbollah positions in Lebanon.
Swiss authorities confirmed that the meeting would no longer take place as scheduled, while both U.S. and Iranian officials indicated that diplomatic channels remain open despite the setback.
