The leadership of the City Boy Movement in City Boy Movement on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Olayide Adelami, at the Governor’s Office in Akure, where discussions focused on youth mobilisation, civic participation, and sustained support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.
The delegation, led by the Ondo State Coordinator of the movement, Comrade Femi Ayejusunle, used the visit to highlight the group’s expanding reach and growing influence among young people across the state.
Ayejusunle reaffirmed the movement’s commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stressing that intensified grassroots mobilisation efforts were already underway ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to him, the group has established functional structures and active secretariats across all 18 local government areas of Ondo State, positioning it as one of the most coordinated youth-based political support organisations in the state.
“We are fully mobilised and committed to ensuring the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The City Boy Movement has active secretariats across the 18 local government areas of Ondo State, and we are working tirelessly to engage young people and the electorate on the achievements of this administration,” he said.
He added that the movement would continue to sensitise Nigerians on the policies and programmes of the Federal Government, while also encouraging greater youth participation in governance and national development.
Ayejusunle further noted that continuity in leadership was necessary to consolidate ongoing reforms and development initiatives being implemented under the Tinubu administration.
Responding, the Deputy Governor, Olayide Adelami, commended the City Boy Movement for its organisational strength and sustained grassroots engagement in support of government programmes.
He urged the group to expand its advocacy through digital platforms and more strategic communication channels to ensure wider dissemination of government policies and achievements.
Adelami emphasised that effective information sharing was crucial to public understanding of governance and development efforts.
“This has to be done for citizens’ education on the steps taken by the government and the recorded achievements therein,” he said.
The Deputy Governor also encouraged members of the movement to remain peaceful, law-abiding, and focused on constructive political engagement as they continue mobilisation activities.
The visit highlights the increasing involvement of youth-driven political organisations in shaping public discourse and building grassroots support structures ahead of future electoral cycles, particularly in backing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of Nigeria.
