The All Progressives Congress (APC) has screened out Hon. Adefisoye Tajudeen, popularly known as small Alhaji and widely regarded as the preferred House of Representatives candidate of Lucky Aiyedatiwa, from participating in the party’s forthcoming primary election.
The party made the announcement in a statement issued in Abuja on May 16, listing Tajudeen among 14 aspirants across several states who were not cleared after the screening exercise for the House of Representatives primary.
Tajudeen, who sought the APC ticket for Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency in Ondo State, was one of seven aspirants from the state disqualified from the primary process. His exclusion is expected to stir political discussions in Ondo, given his perceived closeness to Governor Aiyedatiwa and his prominence in the race.
Other Ondo aspirants not cleared include Olusegun Victor Ategbole and Seun Oluwashina Ajongbolo for Akoko South-East/South-West, Rt. Hon. Arowole Ayodeji Samuel for Owo/Ose, as well as Morufu Tosin Ibrahim, Oseni Oyeniyi and Olaleye John Adedipe for Akoko North-East/North-West.
According to the statement signed by Felix Morka, the aspirants participated in the party’s screening exercise but were not cleared in line with APC’s established procedures and guidelines.
The list also features aspirants from Bauchi State, Ebonyi State, Kogi State, and Rivers State, all of whom were marked as “not cleared.”
