The National Association of University Students (NAUS) has conferred its prestigious Merit Patron Award for Nation Building on Dr. Robert Egboce Adah, in recognition of his contributions to environmental sustainability and national development.
The award, which also includes induction into the NAUS Hall of Fame, was approved following a resolution of the association’s Senate and Executive arms.
In an official communication issued under the banner of the Presidency of the association, NAUS noted that the honour is reserved for individuals who demonstrate selfless service, professional excellence, and a deep commitment to responsible resource management and national growth.
Dr. Adah, who serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Petroleum Environment and Solid Minerals Degradation Awareness Association in Abuja, was commended for his leadership and sustained advocacy in promoting environmental protection and sustainable development across Nigeria.
According to NAUS, his efforts in raising awareness on the adverse effects of petroleum activities and solid minerals degradation have inspired students and young leaders nationwide, while aligning with the association’s core values of integrity, responsibility, and nation building.
The association disclosed that arrangements had been made for the formal presentation of the award, initially scheduled for April 10, 2026, or any other convenient date to be agreed upon.
NAUS reiterated its commitment to recognising outstanding individuals whose works contribute meaningfully to societal progress, while encouraging continued advocacy for environmental sustainability and youth engagement in nation building.
