The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Ondo State Chapter, has congratulated three sports administrators from the Sunshine State on their recent victories in the elections into the boards of National Sports Federations.
Those honoured include Henry Babatunde, who emerged as the South-West Zonal Representative on the board of the Nigeria Aquatics Federation; Sunday Fagite, elected into the Nigeria Karate Federation; and Coach Purity Akuh, who secured a seat on the board of the Nigeria Wrestling Federation.
Ondo SWAN described their emergence as a clear testament to their dedication, competence, and proven track records in sports administration and development.
“As a body of professionals committed to the growth of sports, we are proud of this feat, which not only elevates the image of our state, but also provides a platform for our representatives to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of sports across the country,” the association said.
The chapter expressed confidence that the trio’s wealth of experience and passion for youth and talent development would foster innovation, collaboration, and infrastructural growth within their respective federations.
It also pledged continuous support and partnership to ensure their tenure brings immense benefits to athletes, coaches, and the sports ecosystem both in the South-West and across Nigeria.
