As part of events marking his first 100 days in office, Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on Thursday commissioned the rehabilitation and asphalt overlay of the Stadium/Hospital Road in Ondo City, a strategic access route to major healthcare institutions.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Governor Aiyedatiwa described the road as a vital infrastructure lifeline, significantly enhancing access to healthcare and improving mobility in the Ondo West Local Government Area.

He emphasized that the project was more than just roadwork, it represents his administration’s commitment to people-focused governance through the “OUR EASE” Agenda, aimed at infrastructure renewal and improved public service delivery.
The reconstructed road connects residents to the General Hospital, the Ondo State University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital Complex, and various residential and commercial areas.
The Governor noted that the road’s previous condition had posed serious challenges, particularly for emergency medical access, and that this intervention would now ensure safer, faster transportation for healthcare services.
Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed appreciation to the contractors, engineers, and local residents for their cooperation and support throughout the construction process. He assured that more such impactful projects would follow, aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s national “Renewed Hope” development framework.
Earlier, the Special Adviser on Infrastructure, Lands and Housing, Engr. Abiola Olawoye, praised the Governor’s resolve in tackling the state’s infrastructure deficit and announced ongoing work in Ayeyemi, Valentino, and Sabo areas.
Commending the Governor, Hon. Abiola Makinde (Ondo East/West Federal Constituency) and Hon. MoyinOlorun Ogunwumiju (Ondo State House of Assembly) applauded the project as a clear fulfillment of campaign promises. Hon. Ayotunde Akinfolarin, Chairman of Ondo West Local Government, called the project historic and lauded the Governor’s grassroots-centered governance.
Representing the Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom, High Chief Simeon Oguntimehin, conveyed the monarch’s goodwill and appreciation, describing the road as a symbol of responsive governance and a mark of respect for the traditional institution.
