The Ondo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has congratulated Prince Leke Adegbite on his re-election as Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo State Council, for a second term.
In a press statement issued on April 10, 2025, and signed by the party’s Director of Media and Publicity, Leye Igbabo, the PDP commended Adegbite’s notable achievements during his first tenure and expressed confidence that his second term would further consolidate the progress made.
The party, however, called on the re-elected chairman to address the growing influence of media quacks, who, it said, compromise journalistic integrity by acting as paid public relations agents rather than engaging in investigative and unbiased reporting.
Reaffirming its commitment to working with the NUJ under Adegbite’s leadership, the PDP emphasized the crucial role of the media in strengthening democracy and ensuring transparency and accountability in governance.
