The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Ondo State Chapter, has called on the newly inaugurated administration of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to prioritize sports and youth development in the state.
This resolution was made during the association’s congress held at the Ondo State Sports Complex, Akure.
According to the communiqué signed by Olasunkanmi Elujoba (Chairman), Omotayo Adekojo (Secretary), and Ade Ayo Familoyo (Member), SWAN congratulated the governor and his deputy on their successful inauguration, while also commending the Ondo State Football Association for the transparent conduct of its recent elections.
The congress emphasized the need for strategic investments in sports infrastructure, particularly the renovation of the Ondo State Sports Complex, to support grassroots development and athlete welfare.
The association further urged stakeholders to rally behind Sunshine Stars FC to secure their place in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and advocated for comprehensive preparations for the next National Sports Festival to ensure a remarkable performance by Ondo State athletes.
