Ondo State Governor, Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the completion of all ongoing projects across the state, assuring that no road or development initiative would be abandoned under his leadership.
The Governor gave the assurance on Tuesday during the continuation of his Local Government “Thank You” tour in Ifedore and Idanre Local Government Areas, where large crowds of residents and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) turned out to receive him.
Governor Aiyedatiwa disclosed that work has commenced on several key road projects, including the 3km Ikota Road, the 7.5km Ijare–Akure Road, and the Akure–Idanre Road, while rehabilitation is ongoing on a number of previously abandoned roads across the state.
He added that one of the construction companies handling the projects is indigenous to Ifedore Local Government Area.
He attributed the pace of infrastructure development to increased federal allocations arising from the economic reforms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that the improved funding has enabled the state to execute multiple projects simultaneously.
The Governor described his electoral victory as a historic mandate, saying it imposed a responsibility on his administration to deliver good governance to all parts of the state. He urged members of the APC to sustain unity ahead of future elections, stressing that party cohesion remained vital to electoral success.
Governor Aiyedatiwa also called for patience and consultation among aspirants for National Assembly seats, assuring party members that all interests would be carefully considered in selecting credible candidates.
In Idanre, the Governor expressed appreciation to residents for their overwhelming support at the polls, noting that the local government played a decisive role in securing what he described as an unprecedented electoral victory in the state.
In his remarks, the Ondo State APC Chairman, Engr Ade Adetimehin, commended the Governor for restoring peace to the area following a previous crisis.
Dignitaries at the events included Deputy Governor Dr Olayide Adelami; Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Olamide Oladiji; Secretary to the State Government, Dr Taiwo Fasoranti; members of the State Executive Council; former Speakers of the Assembly; party leaders; and other stakeholders.
