The Nigerian aviation sector has witnessed another controversy as a female passenger was reportedly ejected from an Ibom Air flight after allegedly slapping one of the airline’s air hostesses.
According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred shortly before take-off, prompting the airline’s crew to call security personnel, who escorted the passenger off the aircraft.
This latest altercation adds to a string of recent incidents involving unruly behaviour by air travellers. It will be recalled that popular Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM 1, was recently sanctioned by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) following a disruptive episode at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
Aviation stakeholders have expressed concern over the rising trend of in-flight misconduct and are urging the authorities to implement stricter measures to curb such behaviour.
