The Acting Chairman of the Ondo State Internal Revenue Service (ODIRS), Mr. Bayo Rojugbokan (FCA, FCTI), has revealed that he and his wife waited on God for 10 years after their wedding before the birth of their first child.
Rojugbokan made this known during a special thanksgiving service tagged “Five-in-One Testimony” held at the Chapel of Grace, Government House, Alagbaka, Akure, on Sunday.
The well-attended service drew management and staff of ODIRS, government officials, family members, friends, and well-wishers, all gathered to rejoice with the Rojugbokan family.
Speaking at the event, the ODIRS boss explained that the celebration was particularly significant because August holds a special place in his life.
According to him:
“I got married in August, waited 10 years before the birth of our first child on August 4th, I was born on August 3rd, I was appointed into ODIRS in August, and I resumed office in August — exactly a year ago. August is indeed a milestone and divinely orchestrated. It is a five-in-one testimony, and I return all the glory to God.”
Earlier in the programme, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa spoke on the theme “In His Presence There Is Fullness of Joy” (Psalm 23) and led the opening prayer.
Delivering the sermon titled “The Ultimate Grace”, Pastor Oluwatobi Oke emphasised that greatness is not attained by human might but by the grace of God. He noted that grace is essential for anyone who does not want to be stranded in life and that its ultimate source is God.
“You can’t be under grace and still be idle. Grace is found in Christ, not just in church, and any grace that does not point you to Christ is not grace,” he stressed, citing Hebrews 4:16, Revelation 3:15, 1 Corinthians 15:10, and Titus 2:12.
In a goodwill message, Mr. Stephen Eniafe, Assistant Director of Personal Income Tax, congratulated Dr. Rojugbokan, describing him as an exceptional leader. He also thanked Governor Aiyedatiwa for appointing a seasoned tax professional to head the agency.
Eniafe praised Rojugbokan’s humility, proactive leadership, and listening ear — qualities he said have boosted staff morale and improved the state’s internally generated revenue despite economic challenges.
The staff also felicitated with the ODIRS boss on his birthday and his one-year anniversary in office, describing both as remarkable milestones.
Gifts were later presented to the Acting Chairman in appreciation of his leadership and to mark the special occasion by his staff
The ODIRS choir added spiritual colour to the event with a soulful rendition of “Gbenga Ori Mi Soke.”
