The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced 150 as the minimum cut-off mark for admission into Nigerian universities for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The decision was reached during the 2025 Policy Meeting on Admissions, which brought together key stakeholders in the education sector, including representatives from universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and regulatory bodies.
According to JAMB, while 150 serves as the national benchmark, individual institutions retain the autonomy to set higher cut-off marks based on their admission policies and programme requirements.
The Registrar of JAMB emphasized that the cut-off mark aims to maintain fairness and competitiveness in the admission process while allowing flexibility for institutions to meet their unique academic standards.
This announcement sets the stage for the commencement of the admission process across various tertiary institutions in the country.
