In an Independence Day message to the residents of Akure North, Executive Chairman Hon. Johnson Ogunbolude reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to grassroots development, peace, and sustainable community growth as Nigeria celebrates its 66th Independence Anniversary.
Speaking on behalf of the local government’s executive council and workforce, Ogunbolude described the milestone as an occasion to reflect on the nation’s journey and recommit to building stronger, more prosperous communities.
The chairman outlined key policy priorities for Akure North, highlighting ongoing efforts in basic infrastructure, primary healthcare, agriculture, education, environmental sustainability, and local business growth.
Emphasizing that effective governance requires active civic participation, Ogunbolude called on traditional rulers, community leaders, farmers, artisans, women, and youth to collaborate with the local government.
He urged residents to protect public infrastructure, maintain peaceful coexistence, and participate constructively in civic initiatives to ensure a lasting legacy for future generations.
