The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Ondo State Office, has partnered with U-Blaze Global Limited to intensify voter registration awareness across the state as the July 26 deadline for the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise approaches.
The voter sensitisation campaign, tagged “PVC Assembly Walk 2026 , Vote Ready Ondo,” was organised in Akure to encourage eligible residents to register as first-time voters, transfer their voter registration or update their voter information ahead of future elections.
The awareness walk commenced from the First Bank Traffic Light, Alagbaka, and passed through Omi-Eja, A-Division, Olukayode and Oja-Oba before ending at Democracy Park, behind the Central Mosque, Akure. The exercise attracted students, members of U-Blaze Global Limited and officials of INEC.
Participants also engaged residents during the exercise, educating them on the voter registration process and the importance of active participation in Nigeria’s democratic process.
Speaking at the event, the Head of Voter Education and Publicity Department, INEC Ondo State, Mr. Olayinka Ogunseye, praised the collaboration with U-Blaze Global Limited, describing it as a vital step toward expanding voter awareness and civic participation across the state.
He reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to working with civil society organisations and other stakeholders to strengthen voter education and promote greater public involvement in the electoral process.
Ogunseye urged all eligible citizens who are yet to register, as well as those seeking to transfer their registration or update their voter details, to take advantage of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration exercise before it closes on July 26, 2026.
He added that the Commission, under the leadership of the Resident Electoral Commissioner for Ondo State, Dr. Mutiu Agboke, will continue to promote initiatives aimed at ensuring every eligible voter has the opportunity to register and participate in future elections.
