Senior cleric and General Overseer of the Prayer Centre Church of God, Akure, Pastor Samson Oluwamodede, on Sunday led hundreds of worshippers on a protest march against the worsening security situation in the country.
The prayer walk, held in Akure, Ondo State, was aimed at drawing attention to the growing wave of insecurity and the recent abduction of students and teachers in Oyo and Borno states.
Speaking during the exercise, Oluwamodede lamented the increasing cases of kidnappings, killings and terrorist attacks across the country, saying the government must intensify efforts to protect lives and property.
The cleric described the attacks on schools as disturbing and unacceptable, warning that the safety of children and educational institutions should not be compromised.
Participants in the march carried placards with various inscriptions calling for an end to terrorism, banditry and other violent crimes.
They also offered prayers for peace, unity and the restoration of security across Nigeria.
Oluwamodede urged Nigerians not to lose hope, stressing that while security agencies must rise to the challenge, citizens should continue to seek divine intervention for the nation.
