History repeated itself in the historic town of Owo, Ondo State, as the OWN ONDO movement officially inaugurated its Ondo North Senatorial District Office amidst celebration, community gathering, and impactful outreach.
The event brought together a diverse assembly of community leaders, volunteers, professionals, youths, women, and residents, all united by a shared vision for progressive leadership and socio-economic transformation across Ondo State.
Beyond the political milestone, the grand opening delivered immediate relief to the local population through a comprehensive free medical screening program. Hundreds of residents from Owo Local Government and surrounding communities benefited directly from the health initiative, underscoring the movement’s commitment to practical service, grassroots empowerment, and social well-being.
The choice of Owo as the launching pad for the initiative carries deep historical and personal resonance for the convener, Prince Demola Adeloye. On 28 April 1951, Owo cemented its status in Nigeria’s political heritage when Chief Obafemi Awolowo publicly inaugurated the Action Group there, a progressive movement born from Egbe Omo Oduduwa and Egbe Afenifere that championed free education, regional development, and selfless governance, a legacy later sustained by icons like Chief Adekunle Ajasin. Exactly 75 years later, on 28 August 2026, Prince Adeloye chose the same historic town to ignite a new political era, drawing inspiration from the past to build a modern, people-driven movement.
For Prince Adeloye, the occasion was equally a personal homecoming. The newly commissioned senatorial office holds deep emotional significance, as it occupies the very building where his journey began in 1998 as a young man being mentored, and which once served as his personal prayer altar. By divine providence, that space has now been transformed into an operational hub for public service, innovative ideas, and community development.
