Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has approved the appointment of Chief Segun Odusanya as the new Head of Service of Ondo State, effective June 6, 2026.
The appointment follows the retirement of Mr. Bayo Philips, whom the governor commended for his dedicated service and contributions to the growth and development of the state. Governor Aiyedatiwa also wished the outgoing Head of Service success in his future endeavours.
The governor charged the newly appointed Head of Service to deploy his wealth of experience and administrative expertise towards advancing the objectives of the OUR EASE administration and strengthening the efficiency of the state public service.
Chief Odusanya, born on February 6, 1967, attended St. Peter’s Primary School, Ile-Oluji, and Gboluji Anglican Grammar School before obtaining a Bachelor of Agriculture degree from Obafemi Awolowo University in 1989. He later earned a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management Studies from the same institution and an MBA from the University of Ado-Ekiti.
He joined the Ondo State Public Service in September 1995 and rose through the ranks, becoming a Permanent Secretary in 2019. Over the years, he has served in key ministries and agencies, including Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, the Civil Service Commission, the Ministry of Transport, and currently the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
Chief Odusanya is also the Chairman of the Forum of Permanent Secretaries in Ondo State and a fellow of several professional bodies, including the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management and the Chartered Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria.
His appointment was announced in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan.
