President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on Nigerians to use the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir to pray for peace and stability in the country, urging citizens to seek divine intervention for bandits and terrorists to abandon violence and embrace repentance, while warning that those who refuse to change will face the full weight of justice.
In his Eid-el-Kabir message to the nation, the President congratulated Muslim faithful across Nigeria and around the world, describing the season as one of sacrifice, obedience, and reflection on the values of peace, unity, and selflessness.
Tinubu stressed the need for collective prayers and national solidarity in addressing insecurity, noting that the fight against terrorism and criminality remains a key priority of his administration. He urged religious leaders, community heads, and citizens to strengthen efforts toward peacebuilding and mutual understanding.
Reassuring Nigerians on the security situation, the President declared that “the dark days are over”, insisting that ongoing efforts by security agencies were already yielding results and that the nation was gradually overcoming its security challenges.
He further stated that government remains committed to supporting security agencies with the needed resources and intelligence to intensify operations against criminal groups across the country, warning that those who refuse to abandon violence would face justice.
The President also encouraged citizens to embody the lessons of Eid-el-Kabir by promoting tolerance, compassion, and support for one another, especially in challenging times.
