Yomi Ayeleso, a senior reporter with the Nigerian Tribune, has emerged as the Chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Ekiti State.
The election process was supervised and presided over by the Chairman of the NUJ Ekiti State Council, Kayode Babatuyi, alongside council officials in Ado-Ekiti, bringing together media practitioners representing national print, broadcast, and digital outlets across the state.
Following his emergence, Ayeleso expressed deep appreciation to members of the chapel for their trust and support, promising to prioritize welfare, professional excellence, and unity among working journalists.
He pledged that his executive team would focus on safeguarding journalists’ rights, building professional capacity through targeted training initiatives, and fostering robust collaboration with key stakeholders in the state.
State council leadership commended the peaceful conduct of the election, congratulating the new executive team and urging them to uphold the core ethical values of the journalism profession.
