An inquest at Inner West London Coroners’ Court has confirmed that wealthy 43-year-old British-Nigerian businessman and influencer Igho “Tiny” Ubiribo died following a cosmetic penis-enlargement procedure in Bangkok, Thailand.
The procedure involved injecting 40 millilitres of hyaluronic acid combined with lidocaine into his penis at an unnamed medical clinic. Shortly after receiving the treatment, Ubiribo and his wife, Danielle Simba Allen, went for a massage at their hotel, where he developed severe chest pains and collapsed twice.He was rushed to Sukhumvit Hospital and remained briefly conscious while his wife alerted doctors to the cosmetic injections.
Medical staff suspected a pulmonary embolism, but Ubiribo lost consciousness before a diagnostic CT scan could be administered. He was transferred to intensive care, where medical personnel spent over 100 minutes performing CPR before he was pronounced dead in the early hours of March 6.
Subsequent UK postmortem examinations revealed foreign cellular material in his lungs that matched the hyaluronic acid used during the procedure. Pathologists and Coroner Jean Harkin officially concluded that the injection caused a fatal foreign-body pulmonary embolism. Following the ruling, medical experts have reiterated strong warnings regarding the dangerous systemic risks, including fatal blood vessel blockages, linked to off-label penile filler procedures.
