In recent times, the political landscape of Okitipupa Constituency 1 has become the undeniable focal point of discussion across the entire Ikale nation.
This focus is neither accidental nor trivial; it stems directly from the immense human, political, and leadership potential that God has deposited within our region.
That potential has been tested time and again on the fierce field of politics. Yet, amid the noise of every political season, one name consistently stands out for its steadfastness, competence, and character: Hon. Bamikole Akinjeji.
Akinjeji is not a greenhorn trying his luck at public office. He is a seasoned politician, an international journalist, and a proven grassroots mobilizer whose records speak loudly for themselves. His journey through Ondo State’s political evolution reflects an unbroken pattern of loyalty, capacity, and concrete results.
When the political history of our state is written, Akinjeji’s contributions to party administration will occupy a prominent page.
During his tenure as the State Administrative Secretary of the Alliance for Democracy (AD), he brought order and structure to party machinery.
When the party metamorphosed into the Action Congress (AC), his competence was so glaring that he was retained and eventually stepped up to serve as Acting State Chairman, a critical era that paved the way for Amb. Sola Iji to emerge as State Chairman.
By the 2007 general elections, when the political tides shifted toward the Labour Party (LP), Akinjeji was once again at the frontlines, playing a central role in mobilization and ground organization.
Recognizing his dedication and sharp administrative mind, the former Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Abayomi Mimiko, appointed him to lead the administrative department of The Hope Newspaper and The Hope Magazine. Through sheer diligence and uncompromising professionalism, he rose to the rank of Deputy Director at Owena Press.
Many would have preferred to sit back and enjoy the stability of a high-ranking public service position. But true leaders do not ignore the cries of their people.
Hon. Akinjeji recently stepped down from his role as Deputy Director to answer the clear call of his constituents, to return home and contest for the Ondo State House of Assembly, Okitipupa Constituency 1 under the umbrella of Nigeria Democratic Congress.
His mission is straightforward yet vital: to rescue, elevate, and effectively reposition our constituency at the state’s hallowed chamber.
Beyond his political acumen and media career, Bamikole Akinjeji is a genuine gentleman and philanthropist. Long before declaring any legislative ambition, he has consistently lifted Ikale sons and daughters, offering support both in and out of office.
He is sincere, humble, meek, tested, and trusted, a leader our people can rely on at any hour of the day.
As the 2027 general elections approach, Okitipupa Constituency 1 stands at a critical crossroads. The choice before us is simple: experience versus experiment.
With an unparalleled pedigree spanning party administration, state governance, media, and grassroots humanitarian service, Hon. Bamikole Akinjeji does not represent an unknown variable. He represents tested vision, proven capacity, and the political maturity required to deliver real dividends of democracy to our people.
Okitipupa Constituency 1 deserves a Joshua who knows the terrain and can lead us into a new era of purposeful representation. The time is now.
